I tried a one week detox recently. I did too much too all at once a had a blinding headache for days. Mind you, it proved that I did need to change my ways!!!
I am trying to change my lifestyle and eating habits for good. Permanent change is hard so l m going for a slow Introduction which is backed up with research and menu planning.
I'm building up my store cupboard and finding what works for me.
My ultimate aim is to cut out sugar and yeast and reduce dairy!!!!!!!!!
Over the last few days I have cut way back on tea and focused on drinking water. I can struggle with cold water but I really like hot/wrm water which I drink with slices of lemon.
I have cut out rice, pasta and bread gradually. I have substituted wraps- grain wraps.
I'm cutting back on fruit, for now. I have banned cakes, biscuits, chocolate, sweets, dried fruit, relish, fruit yogurts, cereals, veg such as sweet corn, carrots, peppers .
I'm having porridge for my breakfast, which I love, but I have always had it with honey and cinnamon and banana . So I need to find a substitute for the honey and banana..
I did a good bit of research into yeast combatting foods and am working them into my grocery list. Top on the list are fresh ginger, garlic and onions. I always eat lots of salad and I make my own soup so that's straightforward for me.
I manage my three meals a day just fine, it's snacks I need to work on.
Today I had ryvita and hoummus. I also had some I salted cashews.
I had an Avocado for breakfast and didn't want anything else which is a result in itself.
Gently does it is my motto, and I'm hoping to slowly find my way and to incorporate the changes I to my life :)))
Rome wasn't built in a day
